MITOCHONDRIAL DYSFUNCTION
From powerhouse to powerless:

A source of internal oxidative stress

Mitochondrial dysfunction - Hallmarks of aging

Mitochondria are known as the powerhouses of the cell, providing the energy they need for correct and healthy functioning. As we age, mitochondria become damaged and dysfunctional, which can contribute to the aging process of all tissues, including the skin.⁽¹⁻²⁾

Mitochondria are essential cellular components and act as the powerhouses of the cell, providing the energy they need for correct and healthy cellular functioning.

The deterioration of mitochondria with age can lead to increased oxidative stress, inflammation, and cell death. This phenomenon can contribute to the aging process.

Stimulating mitochondrial functions could, therefore, contribute to skin cell rejuvenation.⁽¹⁻²⁾
